California and Utah students will be on spring break during the week of April 1–5. Please make arrangements for your child’s care during spring break.
Standardized testing continues this month for our kindergarten through eighth-grade students in Idaho, and kindergarten through seventh-grade in Nevada and Texas. Thank you for helping to ensure that students are prepared each day to perform their best.
In class this month, elementary and middle school students will commemorate Patriots’ Day.
This day marks the anniversary of the Battles of Lexington and Concord, the first military engagements of the Revolutionary War, which were fought on April 19, 1775. On this date, the war began, but more importantly, a momentous idea took root—government of, by, and for the people.
The final testing for the Challenger Physical Fitness Program happens this month. The results of these tests will be available with your child’s final achievement report. During the merit assembly at the end of the year, we will recognize the students who achieve high standards of physical fitness.
At the end of this month, we will celebrate the arrival of spring with our Teddy Bear Picnic. Each student may bring his or her favorite stuffed animal guest to the picnic.
Congratulations to Viksha B., a second grader from the Middlefield, California, campus who designed this year’s winning comic.
We received many fantastic entries! Thank you to all students who participated in the contest.
We acknowledge and appreciate Teva for the valuable donation of science lab equipment to our Sandy, Utah campus.
Mark your calendars now for our two main breaks during the next school year. Challenger will not be in session during the dates listed below:
This May, all Challenger students in grades 1–8 will showcase their creativity, problem-solving, and programming skills in computer projects that will be displayed during the weeks of Spring Programs.
Students have begun working on their projects. They will design and complete their projects during computer class. The projects will fulfill specific requirements and challenge students to use their independence and the logical and creative skills they have acquired over the course of the year.
Students are in the process of creating their Young Author projects, which will also be on display during the week of Spring Programs.
They are developing short stories as they concentrate on enhancing their creative writing. Both students and teachers enjoy working on these rewarding projects.
Have you heard about Challenger’s summer program? During our summer Adventureland, preschoolers will go on imaginary trips each week as they learn phonics, numbers, and so much more.
Our morning elementary program is designed to review concepts in reading, grammar, writing, and mathematics while our all-day classes also include arts and crafts, science, music, and physical fitness. Our programs also focus on teaching life-enhancing behaviors; we offer opportunities for children to learn to manage their emotions, increase their ability to focus, respect themselves and others, and gain confidence as they improve and produce.
Students will engage in unique learning exercises, drills, and activities using methods that have proven successful for six decades.
Half-day and all-day programs are available, and classes begin June 17 and 18. It’s the perfect way to enrich your child’s summer days!
If you have not yet enrolled your child in a summer program and would still like to do so, follow the steps below. A $25 application fee will be assessed.
It’s that simple! Click here to see the payment schedule, and contact your campus office with any questions. We look forward to a summer of fun and learning with your child.
